Two games of junior rugby league were contested at Tom Knight Oval last Saturday with the Cobar Roosters and the visiting Narromine Jets sharing victory honours.
The Tony Ellison-coached Under 10’s had the bye.

An inspired six-try performance by outstanding backrower David Watson paved the way for Cobar’s decisive victory over Narromine.
Watson’s numerous clean breaks, both up the middle and out wide, enabled the young Roosters to take control of the match from the opening minutes.
Cobar’s dominant display of attacking skills also featured five-eighth Wade Potter’s personal tally of 20 points from three tries and four goals.
Fullback Dylan Prince and backrower Alec Burton contributed further tries to the runaway victory as the Roosters extended an early 20-point lead to a 40-point margin midway through the second half.
Jordon Cranch, Kaleb Whitehurst, Thomas Sellick and Jim Delboux (two goals) also impressed coach Paul Gauci.
The visitors had few answers to Cobar’s scoring spree and could only manage consolation tries scored by quick-stepping halfback Torin Hando.

With four key players away on representative duties and several others injured, the Tom Martin-coached Roosters could only field a depleted team and the match was relegated to a nine-a-side contest.
Narromine’s lively backs and hard-running forwards took advantage of the open spaces and raced to a commanding 24-0 lead.
The second half was mostly a repeat of the first, with the Jets scoring runaway tries down both flanks as Cobar’s very stretched defence failed to halt the ball carriers.
The Roosters however, slowly adapted to the free-flowing style of play and several mid-field breaks led to consolation tries by Simon Prince, Jesse MacKay and William McNeill plus a goal to Raymond White.
